The brief

This concept was developed for a proposed product expansion under ALDI UK’s private label, Lacura. The client wanted a fresh, eye-catching direction to help the line stand out. I designed packaging across several formats, including a liquid foundation, a dual flush blush compact, a cream stick with a built-in brush, and a concealer with its outer carton, then modelled and rendered each one in 3D. While the range didn’t move forward to production, the quality of the renders opened the door to future projects together that went on to succeed.

The challenge

One of the main challenges was working with limited reference imagery for several components. Parts such as the stick applicator and compact mechanisms had to be worked out through additional research before they could be modelled accurately. The goal was renders polished enough to be evaluated as finished products, with accurate materials, finishes and lighting across very different shapes, while keeping the warm nude and black palette cohesive across the line.
